Scud lure. The Scud is a medium sized torpedo shaped lure designed for wahoo slaying. Unlike your typical High speed wahoo lure, this a torpedo keel weighted jet head creates minimal drag while providing a substantial bubble trail. The scenario that produces the best results is running it off any flat corner, zipping through the deep predators. This lure can be rigged with a single 10/0 or double 8/0 on a cable setup or simply in front of a ballyhoo or mullet on wire. Using monofilament is not recommended as this lure attract predators with razor sharp teeth, such as Wahoo, Kind Mackerel & dog tooth tuna.
Recommended trolling speeds for this model ranges from 6 to 16 knots.
